The Creamline Cool Smashers kept their steak alive in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after sweeping the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in straight sets, 25-17, 25-17, 25-21, at the Philippine Sports Arena in Pasig on Thursday, February 6.
The win also marked Creamline’s 18th straight victory, a streak that began during the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference on August 13, 2024.
A thrilling opening point welcomed the Creamline Cool Smashers after Jasmine Nabor’s shaky receive slipped past her teammates, 1-0, Princess Anne Robles of the Chery Tiggo Crossovers retaliated with a sharp kill, 7-8.
To regain momentum Bea De Leon launched a sneaky tip that caught Chery Tiggo off guard, 19-15, in a dramatic turn, Alina Bicar’s errant service sealed the set for Creamline as it soared out of bounds, handing them the first set triumph with a solid 25-21.
The second set kicked off with a balanced and fast-paced exchange, until Jessica Galanza unleashed a blistering spike, equalizing the game at 5-5, to break the deadlock, Denisse Revilla exploded with a thunderous attack that gave Creamline the upper hand, 17-15.
Dominating with confidence, Jessica struck again with a stunning counter-hit, bringing Creamline within striking distance at 23-15, Angela Negrito delivered a powerful spike down the line to bag the second set, 25-17.
Chery Tiggo stormed into the third set with urgency, as Victonara Galang delivered a faint spike, in hopes of resurgence, 1-5, aiming for resurgence, refusing to fold, Denisse Revilla of Creamline blasted a smart crosscourt hit that shifted the tempo, 17-15.
Tied at 19-all in the third set, the Cool Smashers pulled ahead with a strong push, scoring six of the last eight points through key plays from Jema Galanza and Pangs Panaga, before Alyssa Valdez sealed the match with a powerful spike, completing Creamline’s clean sweep over Chery Tiggo, 25-21.
Bea De Leon stood out as the Player of the Game, finishing with 13 points built from eight spikes, two blocks, and three aces to help power Creamline’s victory.
